iPhone app · public beta · by OKPATH, INC.
SIM Cat
An iPhone app for a SIM gateway you run yourself. Place and receive calls, and send and receive text messages, on the SIM cards in your own Android phone, from your iPhone, wherever you are.
What it does
SIM Cat is the iPhone end of a system you run yourself. An Android phone that holds your SIM cards stays where you leave it, running a small agent app. A server that you run connects that phone to the internet. SIM Cat then lets you use those SIM cards from your iPhone. OKPATH does not run servers, accounts, phone numbers or SIM plans for the app.
-
Calls on your own SIM cards
Place calls from a keypad and answer them on the iOS call screen. Incoming calls ring while the app is closed when your server sends Apple push notifications. Recents shows the history of each line.
-
Text messages
Read, send and receive SMS for each line. An alert tells you when a message arrives.
-
One line or two
A phone can carry two SIM cards. Switch lines in the app and see which number you are using before you call or text.
-
Your server, your data
SIM Cat talks only to the server address you enter. It has no ads, analytics or tracking, and it sends no data to OKPATH.
Not for emergencies. SIM Cat cannot place emergency calls. Use your iPhone’s own dialer for 911, 112 and other emergency or service numbers.
How to get it
SIM Cat is in public beta on Apple’s TestFlight. It needs iOS 17 or later, and a server you run with an account on it (see How it works).
The public beta link will appear here when Apple has approved the first beta build.
- Install TestFlight. On your iPhone, install Apple’s free TestFlight app from the App Store.
- Open the beta link. Open the link above on your iPhone, then tap Accept and Install in TestFlight. The app appears on your Home Screen as SIM Cat.
- Have your server and agent ready. SIM Cat has nothing to connect to without them. What you need
- Sign in. Open SIM Cat, enter your server address, then your login and password. Sign-in details
Requires iOS 17 or later, an Android phone with your SIM cards, and a server you run.
Privacy
The app has no account with OKPATH, no ads, no analytics and no tracking, and it sends no data to OKPATH. Your login, the numbers you call and text, your messages and your call audio go to your own server, which you or your administrator run. That operator’s own privacy policy applies to it.
Help
For setup steps and answers to common questions, see Support. To reach OKPATH about the app, email support@okpath.com. For a problem with a server or an account, contact whoever runs it.
Open-source software
SIM Cat includes open-source software: WebRTC, libre, OpenSSL, PhoneNumberKit and the Mozilla CA root store. In the app, Settings › About › Open-Source Licenses lists each component with its license.
